Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions from job seekers and employers about our services, applications and how we handle personal information.

Job seekers

Do I have to pay to apply for jobs through Staff-Recruit Canada?

No. We do not charge job seekers to apply for vacancies or to be considered for placement. Our recruitment fees are paid by the employers we work with. If anyone asks you for money in our name to secure a job, please contact us.

Can you guarantee me a job?

No recruiter can honestly guarantee employment. Employers make the final hiring decisions. What we can do is consider your experience carefully, tell you about suitable roles when they come up, and be clear about the next steps when you are being considered for a role.

Can you help me get a work permit or immigrate to Canada?

No. Staff-Recruit Canada does not give immigration advice and does not arrange work permits or visas. In Canada, paid immigration advice may only be given by authorized representatives, such as licensed immigration consultants and lawyers. For official information, visit Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

What types of jobs do you recruit for?

We recruit for permanent, contract and temporary positions across a range of industries. Current openings are listed on our jobs page, and you can also send us your resume to be considered for future roles that match your background.

Will you contact me if I am not selected?

We aim to keep candidates informed when they are actively being considered for a role. Because we can receive many applications, we may not be able to reply individually to every applicant who isn't shortlisted. If you have not heard from us about a specific role, please assume you have not been shortlisted for that vacancy. This does not affect your eligibility for future roles.

Employers

How do I start working with Staff-Recruit Canada?

Submit a staffing request with the basic details of the role. A recruiter will follow up to discuss the position, your timeline and the service that suits it best. Fees and terms are agreed in writing before any search begins.

How long does it take to fill a role?

It depends on the role, the location, the compensation and how available suitable candidates are. We'll give you a realistic estimate after the intake conversation and keep you updated on progress. We won't promise a timeline we can't support.

Which hiring arrangements do you support?

We support permanent (direct-hire) recruitment, temporary staffing, contract staffing and executive search. If you're unsure which model fits, we can help you compare the options.

Do your job postings follow provincial posting rules?

We prepare job postings with the applicable provincial requirements in mind. For example, Ontario employers with 25 or more employees must include compensation information, an AI-use disclosure and a vacancy statement in publicly advertised job postings. You remain responsible for confirming that the information you give us is accurate.

What file formats can I use for my resume?

You can upload your resume as a PDF or Microsoft Word (.docx) file up to the size limit shown on the form. Please don't upload files that contain passwords, macros or unrelated documents.

What should I leave off my resume?

In Canada, resumes usually leave out personal details such as a photo, date of birth, marital status, religion and Social Insurance Number. Focus on your skills, experience and achievements.

Can I apply for more than one job?

Yes. Apply to each role that genuinely matches your experience. Each application is linked to that specific vacancy.

What happens after I submit an application?

Your application is reviewed against the requirements of the role. If your background matches, a recruiter may contact you for a screening conversation. Your details will not be sent to an employer until you have agreed to be put forward for that role.

What is the difference between temporary and contract staffing?

On this site, temporary staffing covers shorter assignments such as leaves, seasonal peaks and short projects. Contract staffing refers to specialist, project-based engagements, often for longer defined terms.
