Responsibilities
- Help clients with personal care, mobility, bathing and dressing
- Prepare meals and help with eating
- Do light housekeeping and laundry
- Provide companionship and support daily routines
- Observe and report changes in a client's health or well-being
Qualifications
- Personal support worker, health care aide or similar certificate is an asset (required by some employers)
- Experience caring for seniors, children or people with disabilities is an asset
- Current first aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain
- A clear vulnerable-sector check
Skills
Working arrangements
Day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts are available. Some roles involve travel between clients' homes.
Compensation and benefits
The expected compensation for this position is C$18.25–C$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
